  • My first copywriting experiences were formed in the high-pace, Los Angeles marketing agency scene. I thrive with tight turnarounds, captivating copy that conveys brand intent, and iterating endlessly.

  • Technical writing requires disseminating jargon into digestible interfaces, instructions, and how-to’s.

  • Copywriter and writer on the side, I’m often overflowing with creative words. I’ve written websites, brand identity books, blogs, social media posts, and every type of collateral for clients.

  • For brands just getting off the ground or undergoing a revamp, I specialize as a utility player. I work across departments to align business, marketing, and creative goals.

publishing: match me and centuries, my third and fourth books

match me, 2024

Coming as part of a two-book set in early 2025, MATCH ME explores relationships through prose: the colors we embody, the energies we emit, and finding a palette of people who fit your given hue — that day, anyway.

centuries, 2024

Coming as part of a two-book set in early 2025, CENTURIES is philosophically-oriented and offers powerful nods to Greek gods and historic quarrels within the framework of self-growth and discovery.

MAKING THE E-VERSION: guavas, my second book

Guavas, 2023

GUAVAS is a psychedelic prose piece that attempts to make synesthetic connections between unrelated linguistic phrases, with a focus on absurdism over nihilism in the wake of standardized language.

GUAVAS is now out-of-print. To read, check out the free e-version, available below!

Noom, 2019

noom is a book of short poems based on the works of Aram Saroyan, with original digital artwork and a cover crowdsourced from online users on things that remind them of the people they love.

About JEN MERRITT

After nearly a decade in Los Angeles at fast-paced agencies and tech startups, I’ve returned home to the greater Philadelphia area to care for my (admittedly aging) parents and grandparents, while working and editing upcoming art projects.

Currently collaborating with international freelance clients and local small businesses as a fractional product marketing manager.

The hard of moto maintenance

A year ago, I traded my Kawasaki Versys 300x for a Yamaha TW200. Then that motorcycle got stolen. I keep this picture up to remind you all I was cool once, too.

Life at Home

During the work week, I can be found cozied up in the suburbs of Philly. Pictured are Calvin and Mandy — everything I’ve ever written has been done with one of them in my lap.
